Magazine Project Genre Research-Outdoor Photography Canada

On the cover of Outdoor Photography Canada, a stunning photograph of a forest is shown. There is a man sitting on a rock in the lower right corner, staring out into the wilderness; a river runs below him, and it travels through the forest until it disappears behind the horizon and perhaps reaches the ocean that is displayed in the far background. The trees are hues of orange and yellow, which catches the viewer's eye. After being drawn in by the colors, the viewer sees the man in the corner. Next, he or she will spot the river, and follow its trail throughout the whole photograph. After looking at the image, the reader will be intrigued to look at the text surrounding the photo and buy the magazine. In all, this is an exquisite usage of color and photography skills to draw in an audience. Inside the issue, there are articles on photo editing tips (page 9), a photographer finding his passion for photography as well as nature conservation (page 10-11), and different types of photography (page 30-32). The advertisements are based on pictures as well: ads for photography trade shows (page 2), picture printing companies (page 5 and 29), camera cleaning kits (page 35), photography tours (page 37), and more. The distribution number of this magazine is issue 47, and it does not appear that this magazine has won any or been nominated for any awards.
