Feedback and Revisions

When I presented my magazine to my classroom, many people acknowledged the contrast between my cover page and my table of contents. My peers commented on how my dark cover page made my table of contents appear brighter and stand out more. There were also compliments about my use of white space; according to some people, I had just the right amount. My classmates also stated that they liked the color scheme of my magazine, and that they thought my photos were of a very good quality. I also noticed that there were comments about my use of text features; for example, the borders surrounding the text on my magazine's cover. I got compliments about the text on the cover in general, specifically how the title overlapped the surrounding border of the page and made it look more professional. The overall structure of my magazine's cover got lots of attention from my peers as well. Some people explained that my issue is very organized and had a good design overall. They also remarked that the theme of my magazine is present throughout its entirety, making it more professional and well-made. Also, some of my classmates stated that I had lots of information in my article while still making it aesthetically pleasing.
While there were many good sides pointed out about my magazine, there were critiques as well. Many people stated that I needed more color in my magazine's article and that I needed a center of focus or dominant photo in it. I could do this by selecting one of the pictures in my interview and enlarging it. I also got critiques saying that I could have added more photos to my article, so I will see if additional pictures will match my magazine's look. As for formatting, I got comments to redesign my table of contents and cover. For the table of contents, some people stated that I should make the text bigger and perhaps have less photos. One of my peers included that I should line my photographs up on the left side to make the page look more professional. Classmates also remarked that my table of contents appeared a bit cluttered, so I will strive to make it look more concise. Someone also commented that the star on my cover page, the one enclosing the text "EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH PHOTOGRAPHER", should have an outline. I will definitely look into adding this to my cover.
I got many compliments and critiques to help perfect my magazine; however, some advice was clashing. Some of my acquaintances expressed how much they loved the design of my cover and table of contents, while others described some changes they would like to see in it. Going forward, I will take both sides into account to make my issue the best it can be.
